Boston Event Venue and Event Space Overview

There are not nearly enough event spaces in Boston, let alone venues that are reasonably priced, allow you the flexibility to use your own vendors and ones that ultimately allow you to throw the event you have envisioned.

How do I know this?

As the former President of the Boston Linus Foundation, a volunteer non-profit that threw high end events geared towards raising funds and awareness for children’s charities I was responsible for hosting 5 successful fundraising events in Boston. During the three years as President of the Boston Linus Foundation I probably looked at over 20 venues, which resulted in 5 events and this blog is meant to share what I learned about the Boston Event space market.

Boston Event Space and Event Venue Overview:

I found that in Boston there are a lot of venues for under 75 people and over 300 people, finding ones for 100-300 people really can limit the number of options you have and get ready no matter how big your event to look at bars, restaurants and hotels. While you are at it get used to hearing the word no and hearing a lot about minimums, catering lists and what you can and can’t do.

Boston Venues I hosted events at:

 Veronique
 The State Street Pavilion
 Back bay Events Center
The Estate

We also hosted an event at 319 A st, but this building has since been torn down and re built as an apartment building.

Boston Event Spaces we Looked at but did not use:

State Room
Artists for Humanity
Harvard Club
New England Aquarium
JFK Museum
Museum of Science
Moakley Court House
The Piano Factory
Boston Center for the Arts,  Cyclorama
Villa Victoria

Having hosted a very successful art show (Above the Standard) recently at the Boston Button factory I can tell you that if you are looking for event spaces in Boston you must consider the BBF to your search. It is the one place I have found that is reasonably priced, 90% of the time the answer is yes and it is truly a unique space that will allow you to wow your guests.
